Epidural steroid injection in my neck...how bad is this going to hurt?

I'm scheduled for a esi in my neck (c5-c6). I have the option of being sedated or just getting the numbing shot. I have no idea which way to go on this as I've never had this done before. Do I tough it out and just get the numbing shot?
